I have not seen them for $29, but I get mine at Outdoor Emporium in Seattle for the
low $30's. Spare spools are about $17. They can easily be swapped to left or right
hand retrieve, and are silent on retrieve. The paint wears off quite easily, but to me
that is no big deal. In saltwater they have a problem with the bearing rusting. I try
to wash them after every trip in salt water, and try to keep them greased up in that
enviroment.
All in all, they are quite a fine reel for the money.
