Gentlemen,
I was reading another message board about fishing the PNW and the question
was asked, "What is your favorite Steelhead fly?" As you may know, I am a
totally novice at Steelheading so I was surprised by the frequent mention of
a black Stone Fly nymph. This fly ranked usually number 2 to 3 on peoples
list. It even surpassed the Skunk in popularity.
Now I know why Steelhead strike certain patterns and not others is a bit of a
mystery but why the Stone Fly nymph? Is it because it is big and due to the
weight, down in their holding areas so they hit it out of anger?
