Got a chance to go fishing this afternoon, so I decided to go look for some SRC. I grew up in Arlington, but I'm not familiar with a lot of the names of places along the river. If anybody knows where Corky Klein used to have his farm...well I went investigating under the bridge about three miles east on the 530. Is that Cicero? Anyway...the river was chalked full of pinks. You could see them from the bridge in the hundereds collecting in deeper pools. As I headed down river wading and walking on the sandbars, the smell of death filled the air. It's awesome to think about the life cycle of these fish. I wasn't sure were to look for cutts, so I just began walking, and ended up down at the clay cliff. Found plenty of cutts in the pool. Had a great time catching smaller fish. Can't say that I hooked into any SCR that were over 10 inches, but had a good time anyway. What a gorgeous day! Fall in the Northwest. My favorite time of the year.
