I read a post on ROFF a while back where a guy uses, I believe, 3 mm stainless
steel welding rods. He cuts them into the length he wants then heats up and
flattens the ends. He then drills a hole in each end, ties his flies on the
rod and attaches small split rings to each end. One split ring gets a hook and
the other tied to the tippet. He says that these things really sink. Not
exactly a tube fly but I just thought that I'd share it with everyone.
