Been messing around with tube flies lately and was wondering if any of
the members use them with any success. I have tied up a bunch but really
have not had a chance to try them out. I am hoping to take them out to
the salt this weekend.
The logical reasons behind why tube flies are a good way to go (
increased catch rate due to shorter shank hook, flies are not damaged as
easily, easier fish release) all seem very attractive. The only downside
seems to be that they are a tad bulkier than baitfish imitations tied on
a streamer hook.
If some of you folks do use them with good success I would be curious to
hear about some patterns you find effective.
