Floated from the Forest Glen (at least I think that's the name...) put in
to Superior (Big Eddy). About 11 river miles. Waters pretty low but we
didn't scrape. There's great walk-in access at Big Eddy, and there were
reports of some good fish and a PMD hatch there in the late afternoon
(#18s). Practically midge tiime again (and by the way, there were some
midge clusters around so wouldn't be bad to have some tiny clusters). We
thought we saw a few caddis, but on closer inspection I really think we
were seeing spruce moths (fish weren't feeding on those). If you don't have
it, most of the shops have a great book, something like "Montana Angling
Guide", that is about 2 inches thick with a plastic spiral bind. The back
half of the book consists of fold-out river access maps. Very handy.

Thanks for the report, Pat. What section of the CF were you on? Did you
float?
