From the beginning, I glued the popper head on with the elongated
head at the bottom. I imagined it helped the fly "plane"
across the water. I have no proof that it is so or anything else other
than a gut feeling. In actuality, it probably doesn't matter one whit.
One observation though: The elongated end is at the bottom while the
stinger faces up. Almost all my fish are hooked in the upper jaw. . .
whatever that means.
I'll find out some more later today,
Leland.
OK ya'll I finally found some dink components at The Morning Hatch in Tacoma. I made my first popper and as always there is a lot of room for improvement. My question is the dink component is elongated on one end, does longer portion go on top of the hook or underneath. Granted the size difference isn't much (1/8"). Just curious.
Thanks,
Flig
