I had a meeting in north Seattle at lunch today so I took the mid-part of
the incoming tide and fished a bit at Carkeek Park around the Piper Creek
mouth. The weather gods were not with me, however. It wes cloudy with some
blue sky breaks as I drove across the 520 but it then got cloudier and
cloudier and then the rain began. Oh well, fished in the rain, then the
wind began. Finally I gave up. No fish and no sign of fish but no
fisherman either which is a change. The Snoqualmie has been so crowded that
fly fishing is more like waiting in line for a spot to open up so it was
good to be casting where no one else was. I'll try again next week at
another location when I'm back over in the area.
