I'm not going anywhere this weekend, but I wasn't able to contain
myself with yesterday's beautiful weather.

After an interminable morning meeting, I played hookey in the
afternoon to visit a Cascade foothills lake that has never yielded
more than a couple fish in previous visits. Nonetheless, I figured
that with just a couple hours available, even casting practice was
preferable to working.

I ended up releasing a half dozen RBs and CTs, the largest at just
over 13 inches, and LDR'd a couple others. One spunky RB actually
tailwalked for me, a most welcome sight after a long absence from the
water!

A #12 BH Lightning Bug did the job stripped slowly on a long leader
off a floating line and on a short leader off a clear intermediate.
Water temp was a balmy 41 degrees.

Nice to be out fishing again.
