Roger,

Not sure if this counts as a funny as much as a weird happening.

When I was about 12, my family bought a cabin on the lower Conconully Lake. Being a
put and take lake, you had all sorts of fish catching tactics employed. One late
Spring day, I caught one of the standard planter rainbows in the lake but how I caught
it was the unusual thing.

Many of you may remember the Eagle Claw pre-looped leaders with a hook on the end that
many people used for fishing bait. This fish had somehow taken somebody's bait, broke
off the looped leader with it still intact and swallowed the bait. Somehow the hook
end of the leader passed through the fishes GI tract and was starting to pass out the
other end while the loop end of the leader is sticking out of its mouth. My fly
hooked the loop and that is how I landed the fish.
