I have a book called “Salmon Fishing” authored by Eric Taverner, Lonsdale Library, dated 1931 w/ a plate of salmon flies.  One of the flies pictured had a propeller; the fly was called Silver Grey, Aaro spinner.  Looks like there is nothing new under the Sun.   Dan
