In 1988 I purchased a 3wt Lamiglass blank from Anglers Workshop. 3 years
later I broke it when setting the hook on a log just above the ferule. I
patched it with a piece of fiberglass rod I picked up at Schoffs. In 1998 I
broke it again when fighting a fish up in Canada. Since this was my favorite
rod I was pretty bummed out. I was talking with Jimmy at Patricks about it
and he suggested I send it in to Lamiglass to see if they could fix it. 7
days later Jimmy called me to tell me to come pick up the rod. Lamiglass and
replaced the tip for FREE! The total charge was the $7 for shipping! I
couldn't have been happier! I purchased new hardware for the tip from Jimmy
and was fishing it two weeks later.

What amazed me about all this is that the blank I originally bought had no
markings of any kind on it. I of course didn't have a receipt after 10 years
and I had no clue that there was even a warranty on the blank when I
purchased it. Jimmy went above and beyond his responsibility for customer
service and so did Lamiglass. I'm sure I will be buying another blank from
them again. And I have purchased a lot of gear from Jimmy since.
