When I get a few minutes, I'd be happy to send you the pattern recipe. But Preston's right, Rowley's book is one of the best out there on lake fishing. It's got many other patterns that will more than justify its modest price.

Does anyone have a copy of this pattern that they could share with the list?

Phil Rowley's "Fly Patterns for Stillwaters" (Frank Amato
Publications, Inc.
2000) is, in my opinion, the best book on lake fishing that's
come along in
a while. According to Rowley, Diawl Bach is a widely used pattern in the
British Isles and is dead simple to tie. The name, in Welsh Gaelic, means
Little Devil and is pronounced Dee-owl Baach, with a hard "ch" as
in "loch".
It was tied originally as a chironomid imitation but seems to work just as
well when the fish are on scuds
