Well Sean Im probably just
getting too old or something to get into these warranty discussions. >From my
perspective the equipment for this sport, (which by the way always had a certain
delicacy to it) has gotten better and better, and much more durable. I cannot
help but wonder if any of these folks would have been able to maintain a silk
line, or a gut leader. Much less a bamboo rod.
Its a free country and a
company can pretty much do what it wants, but I don't want to pay for it. So, I
just can't take seriously an outfit that takes back a pair of 5-6 year old
waders- someone pays/there is no free lunch. If someone can go in and get an
exchange after that kind of period, more power to them, but frankly I could not
keep a straight face. And that is exactly why, when I have a choice, I buy from
outfits who offer a basic product at a reasonable price minus a lifetime
warranty. Now if only Sage offered such a deal I would be about a grand
richer. :-)
