From my experience,  the most important way to speed up tying is to make the minimum number of wraps that will do the job.  4 wraps takes twice as long as 2 wraps.  Try it.

After that it is all about organization.  All the pieces have to flow from the bench to the fly with nothing in between.

Always have fun tying.....

Subject: fly tying

I am hoping to get advice on how to speed up my fly tying.  I have been tying my own flies for about four years.  I recently began tying for a couple of friends and noticed how long it takes me to get through a dozen.  Does anyone have basic suggestions or tips?

Thanks,
Brian
