I pretty much have all I need and besides, I'm damn picky about
my fishing stuff. This Christmas, I simply asked for a new pair of
gravel guards and I specifically asked for the Simms gravel guards
which are velro closing. My dear wife who doesn't fish, but at the
same time never complains about the 200+ days I do, gave me a pair of
Hodgeman zippered gravel guards. They, of course, do what they're
supposed to do. Now, I don't succumb to the brand marketing that runs
amok in our sport but working the zipper yesterday while suiting up in
32 degree morning fog on the Sky was a bit daunting, particularly the
left foot.
Bless her heart though, I'll just quietly get the Simms velcro
guards. She'll never understand if I try to explain the
difference.

Now that the Holidays are over, did you all get what you wanted for ______mas? (have to be politically correct nowadays), or whatever holiday it is that you observe. Me, I got enough money to buy either a nice rod or reel. Haven't decided which to get at this point. Since all seems to be dead on this board lately, maybe a discussion of actual presents, or of ones we are going to purchase would be in order. Has anyone been out and tried out thier new presents?
