I printed out a page of “ideas” for my wife from the feather-craft catalogue.  The thing I use the most, is the “Bobbin Wheel” http://www.feather-craft.com/2004XMAs/fcpage.asp?page=15   It is is a cool little gadget which you could make yourself, now that I look at it, and save the $20.00 (but that is what presents are for) What is cool about it is that I use an automatic bobbin when I tie with my rotary vise (from Norlander) which REALLY saves having to rewind the thread from the bobbin rest after winding on your chenille or whatever.  At any rate it is a great place to hang my bobbins without the thread retracting onto the reel (which I have allowed to have happen far too many times).
