Buying from a trustworthy dealer is a good start! :-) (I thought it was quite funny!) All jokes aside, are you looking for a brand new Powerbook or a second hand PB? Buying a new PB is pretty straight forward, as Apple have now released a second revision of the G4 Powerbook. Most problems that were found on the first one have been rectified (I stress most!). The bonus is that the Powerbook is covered under warranty for a full year. If you are looking at a 2nd hand PB, there are more things to consider. Are there dead pixels in the screen? What kind of life has the PB lead? Has it been stolen? Is it still under warranty? Does it have USB and FireWire (important if you want to connect to today's peripherals). I figure the bonus with a 2nd hand PB is that you are paying a lot less than a new one. There are a lot more factors to consider with a 2nd hand than with a new. Your budget will be one of the big deciding factors on which way you can go (also look at financing optiosn too). I am sure that others on the list will also give some great advice!
