Oddly, my first law of purchasing a new Mac these days would be never to purchase in the two months leading up to a MacWorld Expo, unless you need your new Mac _now_ ie the old one was struck by lightning that even a Titanium alloy casing failed to protect it from.
Corollary #1: The above applies unless they're giving away existing machines dirt cheap. Corollary #2: There might be a reason why they're giving away existing machines dirt cheap. Corollary #3: After Expo, second hand prices might drop with the introduction of new models. Not the sort of advice that Apple Sales will love me for (*puts on his bullet-proof vest*) but nevertheless.. -Ry On 2001-12-14 20:37, "Troy May" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hi Shane, > first law of computing... computers are the spawn of the devil ;-) > > First law of purchasing a computer... what do you _need_ to be able to do > with it? > > Second law of purchasing a computer... how much can you afford to part with > to achieve law one (see above). > > Once you've figured those two out it's pretty much a matter of shopping > around to find something that matches those requirements. > > Hope my 2 cents worth is of help. > > Cheers > Troy. > > S.
