Hmm, this may simply add more weight to the "TV's for DVD only" argument, but The West Wing, The Sopranos, Angel (well this season anyway) and (every now and then) Alias are fun shows to watch.
Futurama was good of course, and I enjoy new episodes of the Simpsons ... and there's always the Movie Show on SBS (although not for much longer in it's current form). I wonder if the ratio of good vs crap television has really changed at all. Subjectivity aside, TV has always been pretty crap ... perhaps it's more accute because we have so many competing forms of entertainment operating over the same or similar mediums (DVD, vid games, web). Hmm. So many of the weekly shows I watch have been cancelled or are close to being cancelled. Ah well, time to start reading the TV guide and catch some interesting docos and weird foreign films. :) If you're interested in injecting a bit of fun back into TV, I suggest buying a digital set top box and turning on the closed captions feature - it's hilarious. :) Cheers, Tobes. > ---------- > From: Mark Secker > Sent: Monday, 3 May 2004 10:49 AM > To: WAMUG Mailing List > Subject: Re: BigBorther 4 and the Mac > > >On Sun, 2004-05-02 at 21:46, Matthew Healey wrote: > > > >> rational well-thought-out television > > > >I'm a little puzzled.
