I know the pain when one realises the Powerbook one purchased for $6000 not
that many years ago is worth so little now. I'm afraid to confirm that the
education price on the 1.2GHz 12" G4 iBook with 256MB of RAM, 30GB hard
disk, DVD-ROM/CD-RW combo drive, Airport Extreme built-in, Firewire 400, USB
2.0, etc is indeed only $1,438.80. (the 14", 1.4GHz, 60GB version is
$1843.60) These facts make the resale value of that Powerbook of yours
depressingly closer to $4-500 than $1000.

Makes those lovely Lombards and Pismos of yesterday pale in comparison. (I
still have a 400MHz G3 Lombard, a Powerbook 1400 and a PowerBook 540c all
still sitting on the shelf myself. Ah the pleasure and pain of the fast
pace of technological change :-)
