I seem to hear a lot about these things failing one way or another which makes me wonder about their reliability. Are the as good as they look or just a piece of good looking junk?

Not bad pricing across the board for these now:-

IN Australian Dollars:-
iPod mini (4 colours, no more gold)
4GB (1000songs) - $299
6GB (1500songs) - $359

20GB (5000songs) - $439

iPod Photo
30GB (7500songs) - $499
60GB (15,000songs) - $649

hmmm price drop just in time for me to consider a new iPod.... or not (old exchanged twice under warranty but now 2 months out of warranty iPod has become a nice pocket hard disk as it stopped playing audio last month and now the screen is dead...
