Just wondering if anyone has had any experience in putting EyeTV

Well, I have discovered the problem. The bit rate of the
recordings is
at 15000 Kbps, which is way above the 9800 Kbps limit of DVDSP.
From
what I can gather, the latets EyeTV boxes allow you to adjust the
bit
rate at which the recordings are saved. Unfortunately for me, the
400
I have does not.
Rod, you should blame Channel 10 etc for broadcasting their digital TV
programs at too high a bit rate - not Elgato's EyeTV.
Amusingly, I've heard an anecdote that in the US TV companies go to
great lengths to record TV shows perfectly and then during
distribution they dial down the quality (ie bit rate) of their image
compression until the complaints start rolling in, then they dial the
quality back up a bit.
Got the word direct from Elagto themselves tonight. I have to export
as a dv stream then drop straight into DVDSP (you were on the money
Rob!).
Case closed everyone :-)
