Hi Nancy,
I take it this only happens when loading the "MyPlace" section
of our website.
Yes - in fact I can't find another page anywhere in my history where this happens.
Do you have the correct plug-ins for macromedia flash?
Yes - 7.0 r24
As "MyPlace" requires these to be viewed properly. You can also try
making your cache size larger so the page is loaded from the computer
first and then from the internet.
Are you aware that cache size is not a user setting in Safari? Interestingly, once Firefox's cache gets near its limit, the processor load drops right off. It is well known that Flash processing is processor intensive for OS X although the latest release is much improved. Even so, this kind of load is very unusual.
This should lower the CPU usage as
well. If the problem continues please don't hesitate to let us know.

So I am letting you know that the problem continues. I go to quite a few media sites which have flash ads around the same size as yours and not even near the cpu load.
I've reset my homepage for the meantime.

thanks for your prompt response,

Nancy M

Thanks to all wamuggers who responded. It made my footing much firmer in my correspondence with westnet. They needed telling. Their member photo site is basically inaccessible in Safari and even in Firefox it ain't much chop.
