If ports need to be forwarded then this needs to be done in the
router and the Mac OS firewall (if it is active).
To forward a port in the router the IP address of the computer needs
to be static. You can do this by going into System Preferences ->
Network -> Ethernet -> TCP/IP. Make sure "Configure IPv4:" is set to
"Using DHCP with manual address". Then in "IP Address:" put in
something that will coincide with the "Client IP Pool Starting
Address" in the router (should be something like 192.168.1.101).
Things might be a little different with different versions of OS X
(I'm on 10.4.1)
Once the IP address of the computer is static go into NAT in the
router and edit details of what ever NAT is selected (SUA Only or
Full feature, if None is selected here then this email is completely
useless to you so ignore it). Once in edit details you can forward
all ports (not advisable due to security risk) by adding in the
computers IP address in the top right hand text box. You can forward
specific ports or a range of specific ports by adding in start and
end points for the ports that you want to forward and by adding the
IP address of the computer in the same row. To forward only 1 port
simply use an "End Port No." that is identical to a "Start Port No.".
Took me a bit of time to figure out port forwarding on the Billion
5100. Hope this is helpful to you.

Hi, does anyone have details of how to configure a Billion 5100
ADSL router to work with iChat AV?
Thanks in advance for any tips you can provide. BTW I've read
Apple's pages on port forwarding too...
