Ok we have been down this path many times, but one needs to be
specific:-
1 In what you are trying to do i.e..
A) Authored DVD and trying to make a copy. Movie etc..
B) Same as above but Dual Layered to fit on Single Layer.
C) VOB de-MUXING
D) MPEG2 or other re-coding to editable format i.e. DV, MOV, AVI, WMV
E) Actual raw footage be it a DV of some description or MOV, AVI
maybe even WMV.
F) Region Decoding.
G) Macrovision Encoding removal. (Yes it is illegal, your call)
All of these above are too be edited and Authored or Re-Authored onto
a DVD.
Choose the situation and answers will follow hopefully? If their are
other situations denote yourself a letter and add to list.
