A URL would be useful?
Downloading TIFF over the net seems to be non-compliant with WWW
practices as they should be in jpeg, pdf file formats or in a zip
folder; possibly some other type of archival container.
Internet Explorer would not be choice of browser, Firefox or Camino
preferred with Opera as alternative which one can fool some sights to
believe it is a IE browser.
Right Click (ctrl+click) on Image should allow a selection of
download-able options.
This time I foolishly paid a 12 month subscription and now I can't
get it to work at all.
First I followed the instructions on the site and downloaded Accel
ViewTIFF. Accel's demo TIFF file downloaded after I disabled
QuickTime for stationary images in Safari. When I tried to get the
British Origins image it downloaded ("image - 100% complete") but
then I got an error message:
"Cannot display TIFF document (Unsupported compression mode -7)"
This usually means a TIFF via Windows, but lately I have not had
issues with this especially if using GraphicConverter X to open.
URL so can investigate?
The same error occurred in Internet Explorer.
I contacted the Help Desk, they replied:
Yep usual Support BS once you mention Apple.
Which equates to we have designed this site on Windows for Windows,
believing this is an industry standard. Why not, Microsoft standard
response.
The viewer thing not sure why that is needed, but Preview is usually
the default viewer for industry standard graphic images within OS X
and opens image(s) automatically.
Is it an online viewer specific to this site? URL would be great.
