Help files.

I do not know whether it is because I am getting old or because I am  
short of grey matter (Betz cell concentration) but when ever I try to  
use the help files I do not come up with the answer.  :-(  I am about  
to transfer my mail onto a NEW powerbook G4 :-) so i thought I would  
'archive', 'compress', 'store', 'retire' my current mailbox. Try  
feeding that into help and you get F... A.. Help. I am aware that all  
I need to do is ask the ever helpful gurus on the net and the answer  
will be forth coming in the click of a mouse button. But seriously  
folks why does Mail help point me in the right direction?

BTW how do I archive old mail?
