Hi. Yes, I repaited permissions afterwards. However, I think I've fixed things
in that I created a new account and logged in with this. Scanning worked fine
as did permissions re. the images, meaning I could edit and delete as I wished.
Logged back in with my usual account and everything worked fine now as well. I
have now deleted the extra account I created and everything is still fine.

Beats me how these things work but it's all good. I can now merrily scan the
hundreds of family photos I have and add them to my family tree c/o Mac Family
Tree.

Thanks and a Happy New Year to you.

All of that seems to be associated with " Permissions ".

This seems to imply that you may have repaired Permissions .....
AFTER .... the latest software
was installed . If so , that is the way to go.
It is not unusual for Installers to alter the Permissions during the
installation process ,
so you do need to Repair them after an Installation.

You could try setting up a new User and try scanning from the new user
to see if that bypasses your problems.
