Dear WAMUG members,
I have been having difficulty in accessing my .mac account, and
also Virex
has been unable to access the eUpdate server. At times there are no
problems
with the .mac account, but specially today when clicking on the
mail button,
the browser apps indicator button keeps truning indefinitely. Tried
on both
Safari (v1.3.2) and FireFox (v1.5.0.1).
Also Virex has been unable to update the virus definitions for
almost 5 days
now with the message 'cannot connect to the eUpdate server', or
words to
this effect.
Running OS X 10.3.9 on a G5 dual 1.8 Ghz, and using a NetComm

Hi Philippe,
I did this when I was using Virex 7.2 in OSX10.39.
1. Open Virex.
2. From the Virex menu, choose Preferences.
3. Under Virus Update, click on Customize my eUpdate server
settings. A checkmark appears next to the statement and the
server settings button becomes active.
4. Click server settings.
5. Under Type, make sure FTP is selected.
6. Under Server URL, type: ftp.nai.com
7. Leave the port blank.
8. In the Username field, type: anonymous
9. Leave the password and account fields blank.
10. Under Directory, type: /virusdefs/mac/virex7/ if you are using
Virex 7.
11. Click OK to save your settings.
12. Click OK to save your Preferences.
Cheers,
