Gary go for the Dell 24" IMHO.

I have a 17" Powerbook 1.33MHz hooked up the Dell 24". I works for me like a charm.

When I go home I hook up the monitor and put the Powerbook to the side (you could use it as a second screen but I don't) and I use that with Apple's bluetooth keyboard in front of it. The mouse comes in from the side being connected to the PB.

When you close the lid of the Powerbook the screen goes off. When you remove the Powerbook you have to turn the screen off.

Setting it up was a breeze. I'll probably get the Dell 30" when the price comes down a bit. Wanna buy a secondhand 24"? :-)

Howdy,

I've been thinking of upgrading the VGA to a bigger display.

evidently the Apple and Dell displays are reasonably similar,

Dell currently have their 24" wide screen model ( 1920 x 1200 @ 60Hz) on offer at $1450 ( til June 22nd)
 analogue, S-video, composite, DVI-D

Can I connected either of the new screens to my G4 for a really expanded desktop, or do I need a different or additional graphics card.

and when I upgrade to either G5 or Intel dual core next year will any of these still be able to be connected.

(I am unsure what all this DVI, ADC, all means)

any advice is appreciated
