I'm not sure what Sound Edit actually does, but the suite of mac
products for music are Garageband - which allows you to plug, play
and record a keyboard or guitar, as well as a host of other great
editing features - Logic - which is a step up from this, Logic Pro -
again, one up - and Soundtrack - which is best used for scoring films.
If you do a search for any of these products on google, you'll find
tons of info and tutorials.
Several of my friends are composers and musicians, and they tend to
use Garageband and graduate to Logic Pro. I'm an editor, and I
sometimes whip out Soundtrack Pro to make royalty free backing
tracks. All the programs are very simple to get started on, but have
a lot of hidden depth.
Hope this helps

My wife has used Sound Edit 16 for years to cut music. It runs on
System 9. It is very simple and >>> intuitive. She just purchased a
new imac and would like to run it on native intel but it was
discontinued by Macromedia in 2004. Is there a program that cuts
music in a simple way like this >> program?
