A couple of months back, it seemed that my ethernet port was not working and I had to access my broadband modem via USB.
The list suggested resetting the pram.
I did this and hey presto - ethernet working fine ever since.

Actually I have been wondering why that worked as I thought Pram was just for date, time etc

In my case, the ethernet port and the camera were suddenly not working and resetting pram solved both problems.

It would seem that I have a dead ethernet port on an eMac. I have changed cables to the ADSL modem and still no joy. The modem is OK and shows a connection on a PC laptop Any advice for me here? What can I attach to the cable to positively determine that the port is the problem?
And if it is the problem, is it worth fixing?

Thanks in advance,
