Hi Antony, Given that the Mac is a BSD/unix derivitive I would like to think that you are much better off installing Linux on this fileserver. Not only will you have greater stability and security, but you have a much greater number of options as far as mounting the remote filesystem such as NFS, samba or even appletalk. I understand that Linux is a little daunting for the first time user, however with newer distributions out there they are becoming easier and eaier to use (I would recommend using one with a GUI interface such as Ubuntu).
