Hi Ray & Alan I did look at Pro TA gold but was put off by the fact that it seems to be US software with no Australian version.
For anyone who uses it - how does it handle the Australian tax implications? EG: If I want to sell some shares and need to select from several parcels all with different purchase dates/prices - can it highlight the potential capital gains of each package taking into account: - the need to have held for at least a year to apply the 50% (or 33% for SMSF) discount - for older packages whether indexation gives a better outcome than the discount method. - the additional complications of spin-offs, capital returns, demergers, schemes of arrangement etc. (eg BHP splitting off OneSteel, merging with Billiton, issuing bonus shares then splitting off Bluescope - and I have shares bought before, between and after all these!) These are the sort of things that are getting more & more complex to address with my excel spreadsheets and which the Australian (PC only) software at least addresses (though not very well in my opinion). All feedback gratefully received!
