Hello Sharebies.
I do not trade enough or have complicated share splits.
I just use a spreadsheet to show the basics to keep the accountant happy.
I tried the demoes but I am reasonably satisfied with what I am doing.
I am still interested in any Macintosh share software to try.
Regards from Alan.

Hi Ray & Alan

I did look at Pro TA gold but was put off by the fact that it seems to be US
software with no Australian version.

For anyone who uses it - how does it handle the Australian tax implications?

EG: If I want to sell some shares and need to select from several parcels all with different purchase dates/prices - can it highlight the potential
capital gains of each package taking into account:
- the need to have held for at least a year to apply the 50% (or 33% for
SMSF) discount
- for older packages whether indexation gives a better outcome than the
discount method.
- the additional complications of spin-offs, capital returns, demergers, schemes of arrangement etc. (eg BHP splitting off OneSteel, merging with Billiton, issuing bonus shares then splitting off Bluescope - and I have
shares bought before, between and after all these!)

These are the sort of things that are getting more & more complex to address with my excel spreadsheets and which the Australian (PC only) software at
least addresses (though not very well in my opinion).

All feedback gratefully received!

Cheers

Hi Fplks!

I have been using ProTA Gold for years. It has all the features you
need. It is a Mac only product and is marketed by BeeSoft.
Go to http://www.beesoft.net/products.html. You will also need the
share p[ricing data. That is available from Weblink at
http://www.weblink.com.au/

Good luck
