Denise,
I use an SD card in my Palm and mine is a sandisk 512 Mbyte. It has a
lock switch down the left hand side. When locked the contents is
locked. this may be what is causing the problem. Just check and see.
I always thought it was read only but it may be causing problems. It
is a slim possibility.
Alternately you have a protection problem - try get info when the
disk is mounted (which happens when iphoto sees the camera) to
desktop and look at a file. Maybe you could also drag them to the
desktop.

Hi all -esp photographers,
I recently went to take a series of photos of my niece's new baby
but found
I had no card in my Canon SLR camera so borrowed her SD card and
took a heap
of photos using my camera. I made sure I wasn't taking RAWS, just
JPGs but
now find I can't transfer the photos to my iMac. All the photos are
visible
when previewing on my camera (and other cameras) but when I
initially put
the SD card into my camera, I get the message "card 2, write
protected". I
can't take another photo or do anything, except view using Preview.
My card
reader is only for Flash cards so I've hooked the camera directly
to the
iMac and gone through all the usual steps to download from the
camera, but
nothing shows. I then tried PhotoRescue (which I've used before for a
different reason) but it can't find the card either.
Help please! Is there ANY way to download 'write protected photos'? I
definitely didn't choose this option from my camera's menu either
(I can
take photos when a Flash card is inserted).
TIA
