Hi Denise and other WAMUG'ers, Just an addition to this thread, and by the way congratulations to Nick for pointing out this solution.
I prefer to use a Card Reader when downloading photos from my cards - I use SD cards and my card reader currently is a San Disk capable of reading cards of various formats. Before inserting my SD card in the reader, I always make sure that the 'Write Protect' switch is turned 'ON' to protect my photos. I can download the photos with the Write Protect on when using the card reader and thus feel a bit more secure!! It is only after having copied the photos to one of my hard-drive and burning them successfully to a couple of CDs or DVDs that I delete the photos from the card. I use mostly Graphic Converter for my photo use, ie to download the photos from the card reader and mostly to batch convert the photos from jpg to tiff. I tend to keep all my photos in those two formats. Have a nice Sunday all. Philippe C. -- You can't direct the wind, but you can adjust your sails.
