Hi Wamug, I've got a 250Gb Lacie Ethernet Disk Mini 10/100, and I'd
like to use it for Time Machine.
This disk was originally setup to allow log on via a network (its
original purpose). But now I just want to use it as an external drive
via USB.
When I plug it in to the USB port, it appears in Finder and I can log
in. But Time Machine doesn't recognise it as a valid external drive.
After hitting a few brick walls, can anyone illuminate me:
- Can I use this disk for Time Machine?
- If I can but I need to set it up as an external USB drive rather
than a network drive (with login), how do I do this?
After checking the manual and using the install CD for the disk, I
can't find any references to setting it up as a USB disk. So maybe it
only operates as a network drive.
Thanks for any assistance.
Glenn.
