Ah - an excellent topic of discussion.

I believe it's illegal in Australia to record free-to-air broadcasts, even
for personal use only (Australian Copyright Council - G079v04 - 'Fair
Dealing').

Given that 99.99% of Australians ignore the law in this regard, should you
feel bad in advocating a P2P client/service to obtain a copy of the program,
especially as:

A) The program has already aired in Australia and B) The program has already
been paid for by the tax paying public.

T.

P.S. You could argue that P2P services are a mass distribution system that
by their nature breach the 'for personal use only' premise, in that you
upload and download simultaneously.

A VHS recording requires additional steps, i.e. effort, to generate the same
result.

So is it less about the act, and more about the likely-hood of the act
occurring?
