I have recently converted from a Windows PC to my first Mac. I have
managed to successfully transfer all of the necessary files (eg
personal files, photos etc) from my PC to my Mac however I am now
having difficulty viewing one particular file format. I utilised the
"Microsoft Office Document Imaging" software on my PC to capture
scanned document images, which were saved with a .tif extension. When
I try to open these files on my Mac using Preview I get the following
message "Couldn’t open the file. It may be corrupt or a file format
that Preview doesn’t recognise."
In an attempt to determine if the files had been corrupted in the
transfer process, I transferred a number of the files back to my PC
and successfully opened them. The file sizes have remained unchanged.
I would appreciate any advice regarding the steps I need to take in
order to view these files on my Mac.
Kind regards,
David Ring.
