I have a Microsoft optical cord mouse with programable left, right,
forward, back buttons and a scroll wheel. Now several years old with
full on daily use and it has not missed a beat despite now looking
rather shabby. It works straight on the wooden bench top too! Don't
know what the current models are but I would have to give this one a
double tick!

On the other side of the story, we have a Mighty Mouse with our
Macbook, much lighter use but still 100%

I recall seeing recommendations previously about Logitech mouses. Is
there a particular model Logitech mouse that closely resembles the
Mighty Mouse? Considerations include...
* I use latest Mac OSX.
* I think I prefer a wired mouse rather than wireless because I
can't be bothered replacing batteries
* I don't use Buttons 3 (pressing down the scroll ball) or Button 4
(squeezing the sides) at all, so if that functionality is missing
from a particular Logitech mouse, I don't mind.
Grateful for any recommendations or first-hand experiences.
