Hi Neil,
I've had issues like this with hybrid audio/data CDs. If it isn't, I'd
start suspecting something amiss with the optical drive..

- sometimes iTunes goes ahead and imports OK
- other times the CD just unmounts - ie it doesn't mount in iTunes

I check in finder it's not mounted
Now it's not a huge problem, I leave disk utility running if I'm
importing
CDs and if I check there - the disc is showing as "Audio CD" but
unmounted -
I then mount it and the iTunes dock icon bounces - switch back to
iTunes and
I again have the "do you want to import this CD into iTunes" box -
hit Yes
again and this time it imports OK.
I can't see any pattern to whether the CD imports first time or has
to be
re-mounted via disc utility & then imported.
Before my current session of re-importing my CDs it had been quite a
while
since I had done any - so I'm not sure if this problem is new to
Leopard or
iTunes 8 or either/both?
Anybody else seeing this or have any ideas?
Like I say, not a big problem - I just don't like it when it doesn't
"just
work" !!
