This issue happened to my EyeTV Hybrid, but thankfully hasn't occurred
with either my EyeTV 400 or my EyeTV Diversity.
Initially it started giving the same message:
"The EyeTV hybrid device will not operate because it is connected to
a USB 1.1 port. It should be connected to an available USB 2.0 port"
...and would start working after clicking the message, but it started
getting worse where it would only appear after re-plugging the device
or restarting the Mac and it would sometimes work and sometimes not.
This occurred even though it was plugged directly into the USB 2.0
port on our late model iMac.
Eventually it stopped working completely and the only thing that fixed
it was getting the EyeTV Hybrid hardware itself replaced.

Hi guys,
My EyeTV Hybrid 3.0 has not mounted occasionally with the iMac
starting up even though it is
configured as a start-up item.
When I start it manually it comes with the alert:
"The EyeTV hybrid device will not operate because it is connected to
a USB 1.1 port.
It should be connected to an available USB 2.0 port"
As soon as I click the alert away it starts and works normally.
The message does not make sense as I'm using an Intel G5 iMac with
10.5.7 which
has only USB 2.0 ports and the EyeTv tuner is connected to one.
Any useful suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks
Walter
