I've been having the exact same problem with my EyeTV Hybrid connected to my Intel Mac Mini. I've also got an EyeTV DTT connected to it and both were working perfectly for a few months.

But then I started getting the "it should be connected to a USB 2 port" message.
Restarting the Mac Mini used to fix the problem.
Then later it would take 3 or 4 restarts to fix the problem.
Now it doesn't work at all.
Changing USB ports doesn't help.
The EyeTV DTT doesn't have a problem.

I too would love some tips.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi guys,

My EyeTV Hybrid 3.0 has not mounted occasionally with the iMac starting up even though it is
configured as a start-up item.
When I start it manually it comes with the alert:

"The EyeTV hybrid device will not operate because it is connected to a USB 1.1 port.
It should be connected to an available USB 2.0 port"

As soon as I click the alert away it starts and works normally.

The message does not make sense as I'm using an Intel G5 iMac with 10.5.7 which
has only USB 2.0 ports and the EyeTv tuner is connected to one.

Any useful suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks

Walter
