Apple's Spam filters actually let a LOT of spam through and falsely flag legitimate mail as junk :( It relies too heavily on your own manually maintained Address Book... If someone is IN your Address Book then the mail ISN'T flagged as spam, even if it obviously is spam :(
Personally, with over 400 emails a day coming, I prefer using ISP based spam filters, but if that isn't available, then SpamSieve seems to the recommended tool
