I don't believe so. I have Safari 5 installed on one of my computers
running Leopard & have not experienced any problems.
I believe the fault lies on your computer, or your user account. Have
you tried Safari 5 in another account.
Are you running Safari 5 in 32-bit or 64-bit mode?

I'll pursue Peter's advice I think although it looks scary in the
Terminal! I shouldn't need to do this. Is this an Apple fault?
Luckily I usially use Camino but Safari is handy for the few sites
that Camino rejects. Firefox is looking like a nice option.

Hi all
Following a recent software update Safari 5.0 now crashes on
startup, when
trying to load the first web link. I've trashed it, and prefs, and
downloaded and installed Safari 5 for Leopard, just in case the
updater
installed the wrong copy. Perhaps I've got something else
running that is
conflicting with it. Fortunately I've Camino and Firefox which I
like and
use.
Any help much appreciated.
