Hi, Ronni, Kyle and Graeme,

I have now followed all the instructions: disconnected the trackpad from
Bluetooth, changed the batteries (the old ones were the originals from Apple,
but not rechargeables), and went through the pairing again. And it now works!

After I established that, I put the system to sleep for an hour and then tried
it again, and it was still paired and connected.

So, thank you, all of you, very much, and especially Ronni.
Cheers,
Pat
