No problem Ian. While the problem could be due to erroneous input by your wife, it is also quite possible that this problem is, in fact, occurring only for your wife. The highlighting problem that I am experiencing depends crucially on exactly how the cursor is moved. If your wife uses one method to select text the problem could occur, while if you use another method it may not. Once text is selected, the next keystroke, whatever it be, will deleted and replace the selected text.
This may be completely unrelated to the problem you are seeing, of course, but it I though I would throw it into the mix of the possible causes.
