Good morning all Two questions here.
Firstly, is there any way around the lack of Flash on the iPad? I use an on line language course that requires Flash and get very frustrated that I can't use the same programme on the iPad. Secondly, a couple of months someone on the List asked me to report back on my experiences using iPad in France. I thought I had carefully put a reminder in iCal to deal with this on my return. Not sure what happened but the reminder is no longer there and I'm now not sure who was asking the question. Was it Brett? If the person concerned would like to contact me off list I can go into more detail. Put simply there is no problem at all in buying a French Micro SIM for the iPad. I bought mine from an Orange Store at the same time as I purchased a french SIM for my mobile phone. Depending on where someone is staying, the French SIM for the iPad is not all that necessary. There are many hot spots at cafés and the few hotels I stayed at all had free WiFi. I was based in one town for three weeks and the accommodation I had came with wireless access. My reason for buying the French micro SIM was to give me complete independence for internet connection. I'm assured that the iPad SIM card will remain valid for six months which should cover my next visit in September. That remains to be seen!! I have always taken my MacBook with me when travelling but this time having my iPad with me was sheer joy and reminded me of comments made by Susan some time ago when she too had experienced the pleasure of travelling overseas with her iPad, Best wishes Laura -- The WA Macintosh User Group Mailing List -- Archives - <http://www.wamug.org.au/mailinglist/archives.shtml> Guidelines - <http://www.wamug.org.au/mailinglist/guidelines.shtml> Unsubscribe - <mailto:[email protected]>
